You’re
going to Heaven this summer with DJ John LePage and diva Debby Holiday.

This summer DJ John LePage,
Rock/soul diva
Debby Holiday,
and Leo
Frappier Band (LFB), release Heaven on John’s Groove Records label via
digital download on Masterbeat.com. The track is a resurrection of the UK track
released by Sarah Washington in 1996.
John has
returned with his early 2000’s label, Groove Records, in a digital format to
release the single on Masterbeat.com as an exclusive digital download. John
approached producer/remixer Leo Frappier to collaborate on the Heaven project
and brought in Debby Holiday as the vocalist. Remixers on the project include
Jamie J. Sanchez,
Wayne G, &
Jeff Poirier.
John LePage, a San
Franciscan with the sensibility of his native Canada, is one of those rare DJ's
who can extract those inner and outer influences of diversity to take his
refined sound and cross-over appeal to the next level. Pointing to his mentor,
Billy Carroll, LePage explains that House was the first thing he knew when he
hit the clubs of Montreal while in college in the early ‘90s, and the
fascination has stuck. Born in Toronto and educated in Montreal, LePage cut his
teeth on the scene in such iconic clubs as Kox and Sky. It was in Montreal where
he met Carroll. After a few stints in Montreal, LePage moved to New York City
where he began to develop his resume, immediately becoming a resident DJ at
Splash. He then hit the road spinning Black and Blue in Montreal, Miami’s White
and Winter Parties, all while keeping people on the dance floors at clubs in
Denver, Dallas, Boston and Philadelphia. After remixing some tracks for Nervous
Records, LePage released two compilations, New York Groove I & II on his own
label, Groove Records. In 2004, LePage moved to San Francisco, playing parties
like Sanctuary, Sweat, Northern Exposure in Seattle, Beef Dip in Puerto
Vallarta, and the Onyx Ball in Toronto, Canada.
Debby
Holiday broke onto the dance scene with her Top 5 Billboard summer anthem Dive
in 2004. Holiday followed the smash hit Dive with her power ballad Half A Mile
Away, which shot into the Billboard Top 10, along with Debby's follow-up dance
hit Bring It On. Her next four dance singles, Piece of My Love & Surrender Me
(with Tony Moran), Joyful Sound and Party Round the World (with Jason Dottley)
all went Top 20. Debby Holiday's other recent projects include singing the title
track to Courteney Cox's FX Network television series Dirt, a role in a national
Sprint television commercial, and looping on the musical feature film Dreamgirls,
with Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson. Holiday continues to pump up the volume on
the dance floors, live with her rock/soul band, and on television, with several
recent placements including NBC’s The Office, FX Networks Dirt, Showtime’s hit
The L Word and MTV’s Pick Up Artist. Queer As Folk another Showtime hit, used
two of Debby’s tracks including Dive & Half A Mile Away in their episodic
finale. Joyful Sound was featured in this past season’s hit LOGO show Sordid
Lives: The Series, from writer/director/producer Del Shores, and starring Olivia
Newton John. Debby Holiday has worked with a wide range of today's top
songwriters including Jeffrey Steele, Al Anderson, Marty Frederikson, Billy
Steinberg, Erik Bazillian and Clif Magness (Avril Lavigne). Live club
performances include appearances at Mardi Gras (Sydney, Australia), One Mighty
Asia (Bangkok, Thailand), U.S. Embassy (Tiblisi, Republic of Georgia), White
Party (Miami, FL), Alegria (NYC, NY), The Mayan (Los Angeles), Mezzanine (San
Francisco), SBNY (NYC), Factory (Los Angeles), Coliseum (Ft. Lauderdale), Avalon
(Hollywood), Montage (San Diego), Seattle Pride, San Diego Pride & South
Carolina Pride.
Heaven
(Street Date: June 2010) will be available on Groove Records exclusively at
Masterbeat.com, and is executive produced by John LePage. Promotions supporting
Heaven include both national club & radio play, plus live club appearances by
John & Debby. Live performances by Debby Holiday are planned in Florida for Gay
Days and in Baltimore for Pride. Additional performances of the new track will
be scheduled throughout the 2010 Pride and summer seasons. |
